Elite

I believe that I was looking at old computers on the internet when I found Elite. I was most likely reading about the Acorn Archimedes. Someone mentioned that they wanted to get Elite running on one of their computers again. Normally I would not have noticed since I do not play many video games, but someone at college told me about this great game he played called Elite:Dangerous. I thought that they may have been related, so I started investigating Elite. I was impressed as soon as I saw the graphics: 3D on an 8-bit computer from 1984. If someone else could do it, then why couldn't I? It would be an excellent game to run on one of my homebrew CPUs. I've been working on making my own version for a while now.

I have quite a bit of work on Khan Academy.

You may notice that the 3D Spaceship projects look suspiciously like Elite.

This is a multiplayer game engine that I've been writing. The game itself is simpler than the 3D spaceship projects. The models I've been using come from Oolite.

This is my favorite version. It has much better graphics and gameplay than the original. There are also tons of expansion packs. This was the best clone of Elite available before Elite:Dangerous came out.
